This photograph was used last week for a Global Justice Ecology Project one minute video on Mutual Aid Disaster Relief and COVID-19. It was originally used as an illustration by the Campaign to STOP Genetically Engineered Trees during a Charleston, NC protest in 2006 to warn of the dangers of the potential contamination to people and ecosystems if GE trees are allowed. – Orin Langelle

The COVID-19 pandemic requires community organizing and disaster response, despite the need for physical distancing. Mutual Aid Disaster Relief is an organization that operates on the principles of solidarity, mutual aid, and autonomous direct action within our communities.

The interviews occurred during “The Resurgence: 2019 North American Forest & Climate Movement Convergence” inside the Shawnee National Forest located in Southern Illinois in October 2019.
